U.S. citizen visiting Canada contracted the very rare Monkey Pox virus


The case of monkey pox was confirmed by Massachusetts department of public health - what's puzzling about this infection is that no cases of Monkey Pox have been diagnosed in Canada, so how he contracted the virus still remains a mystery


The CDC is conducting contact tracing, and the cases are occuring where contact with no persons from west africa - the origin of the virus


Signs of monkeypox include flu-like symptoms, lymph node swelling, a spreading rash, and some confuse it for a sexually transmitted disease such as herpes - The infection can last two to four weeks and if you are feeling symptoms it's recommended to seek medical help


This case in Massachusetts poses no risk to the public, and the individual is hospitalized and in good condition
